The First Steps
The day of your appointment you will receive a
Second Skin:
Leave the first clear cover on for 3 DAYS. That means leave it on in and out of the shower
When removing cover, do so under running warm water (in the shower). Pull the patch downward; like a banana.
Think of it as an adhesive band aid. Don't try to dry rip it off; doing so can cause skin irritation.

Pooling: Pooling is when the body reduces the swelling of the tattoo and blood and ink from the tattoo rise to the surface and get trapped under the second skin patch. Leave this alone and it should stop within the 3 days of using the patch. Wash off any pooling when you remove the patch after 3 days
Cleaning
Washing:
Only use unscented soap (Basic Dove/ Dial). Do not use anything with a perfume or fragrance, these items have alcohols in them which can lead to irritation or infection
Avoid overly hot showers while in the peeling phase. This can lead to the scabs falling off prematurely which can result in a faded spot on your tattoo.

KEEP OUT OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT!

The sun will bleach your tattoo leading to fading

Healing
What to use: Use the Aquaphor ointment only!! No butters, oils or lotion. When applying the ointment do so once a day for 3 weeks. Your tattoo may look like its done healing after 1 week, this is not true. We want our tattoo to heal evenly from the inside out so continue to use the Aquaphor for the full 3 week. A little goes a long away. Avoid over ornamenting your skin. Doing so doesnt speed up the healing process; allow your skin to absorb the ointment and breath naturally for even healed results

Expectations:
Your tattoo may be swollen for the first 24 hours, this is completely normal. And when you take off the second skin while the body is going through the scabbing phase the tattoo may itch; this is also normal. DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK AT YOUR TATTOO. Allow your body to go through the healing phase without additional irritation.

NO-NO's:
No swimming, Jacuzzis, hot tubs, steam rooms, or direct sun light for 30 full days! Your tattoo is a voluntary open wound, you don't want to introduce bacteria to an open wound. Protect your investment!!
